Installation and design of safety valve
1.The safety valve on the equipment or pipeline shall be normally installed upright, but for the safety valve set in the liquid pipeline, heat exchanger, container, etc., when the valve is closed, it may be installed horizontally in places where the pressure may be increased due to thermal expansion.
2.The installation of the safety valve shall be as close as possible to the protected equipment or pipeline. If the installation cannot be close to the protected equipment or pipeline, the pressure drop of the pipeline from the protected equipment pipe mouth to the safety valve inlet shall not exceed 3% of the fixed pressure value of the valve.
3.The safety valve shall not be installed at the dead end of a long horizontal pipe to prevent the dead end from accumulating solid or liquid materials, so as not to affect the normal operation of the safety valve.
4.The safety valve shall be installed in a place where it is easy to be serviced and adjusted and there shall be sufficient working space around it.
5.For a large diameter safety valve, the possibility of lifting the safety valve after disassembly should be considered in the layout.
6.The safety valve inlet pipe shall adopt long radius elbow.
7.The design of the relief valve outlet pipe shall take into account that the back pressure does not exceed a certain value of the fixed pressure of the safety valve. For example, for the ordinary spring safety valve, the back pressure shall not exceed 10% of the fixed pressure of the safety valve.
8.The outlet pipe of the safety valve discharged into the closed system shall be slanted to the top of the pressure relief main at a 45-degree Angle along the medium direction, so as to prevent the condensate in the main pipe from pouring into the branch pipe and reduce the back pressure of the safety valve.
9.The outlet pipe of the safety valve shall not be "bagged". When the outlet pipe of the safety valve is long, it is advisable to set a certain slope (except the dry gas system).
10.When the relief valve discharge pipe is discharged into the atmosphere, its outlet shall not be directed towards equipment, platform, ladder, cable, etc.
11.In the discharge pipe of the wet gas pressure relief system, there should be "bag shaped" liquid accumulation, and the installation height of the safety valve should be higher than that of the pressure relief system.If the relief valve outlet is lower than the relief pipe or the discharge pipe needs to be elevated to the access pipe, the separation bag should be set at the low point where it is easy to approach.
12.When a cut-off valve is installed on the outlet pipe of the safety valve, a single ram gate valve should be selected and sealed open. The valve stem should be installed horizontally to prevent the stem from corroding or loosening the pin connecting the valve plate and the valve plate from sliding down.When a relief valve is provided with a bypass valve, the valve shall be closed with a lead seal.
